Newcastle United replies Alexander Isak

In a public response to Alexander Isak’s recent statement, Newcastle United has made it clear that the transfer saga will not be easily resolved.

The club released its own statement via its official website on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, denying Isak’s claims of broken promises. Newcastle United’s statement confirmed that while they are open to listening to players’ wishes, Isak remains under contract.

They asserted that “no commitment has ever been made” that he would be allowed to leave this summer. The club’s position is that the “conditions of a sale” have not been met, and they “do not foresee those conditions being met” before the transfer window closes.

This strong statement indicates that Newcastle is not budging from its stance of only selling Isak for a British transfer record fee and after a suitable replacement is signed. The public clash has further complicated the situation, with reports suggesting that Isak’s recent actions have not been well-received by the club or some of his teammates.

What did United say about Alexander Isak?

The back-and-forth between Newcastle United and Alexander Isak continues as the club issued a firm statement of its own following Isak’s public comments. In a statement on its official website on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, Newcastle expressed its disappointment with the way Isak and his agents have handled the situation.

The club’s response was direct, asserting that Isak remains under contract and that “no commitment has ever been made” to allow him to leave this summer. Newcastle’s statement emphasized that any decision on a sale must align with the “best interests of Newcastle United, the team and our supporters” and that the conditions for a transfer “have not transpired.”

This strong rebuttal from Newcastle came just hours after Isak posted on his official Instagram account, where he accused the club of “broken promises” regarding his future. The Swedish international’s original statement claimed that a loss of trust made his continued relationship with the club impossible.

As the summer transfer window rapidly draws to a close, the public disagreement between player and club makes for an intriguing final few days. The situation has intensified, and all eyes are on whether a resolution will be found before the window slams shut.
