Man City vs Wolves – Preview, Prediction, Team News, Head-2-Head (h2h), Correct Score Prediction, Formation, Lineups & Current Form.

Manchester City return to the Etihad this Saturday following a string of demoralizing performances. After a poor showing in the Manchester derby, Pep Guardiola’s side reached a new low in the Arctic Circle with a 3–1 loss to Bodø/Glimt – a match where they trailed by three goals early in the second half.

The attempted fightback was effectively ended by Rodri’s red card, and City were arguably lucky to avoid a heavier defeat. While the champions are desperate to find their form, they face a Wolverhampton Wanderers side that is finally showing grit under Rob Edwards. Despite sitting bottom of the table and 14 points from safety, Wolves are currently on a four-match unbeaten run, though they have yet to surpass Derby County’s infamous 11-point record.

Man City Team News

Manchester City’s recent defensive instability is largely a byproduct of a depleted backline. With Rúben Dias, Joško Gvardiol, and John Stones all sidelined, Pep Guardiola is expected to hand an immediate debut to new signing Marc Guéhi. Despite playing primarily on the left during his tenure at Crystal Palace, the England international -whom Guardiola has already praised as a “top central defender” – is likely to partner Nathan Aké this Saturday.

The outlook in midfield remains equally challenging. Nico González missed the midweek trip to Norway and appears unlikely to feature this weekend, according to his manager. With Matheus Nunes battling illness and the trio of Savinho, Oscar Bobb, and Mateo Kovačić still recovering from injuries, City’s squad depth continues to be pushed to its limit.

Wolves Team News

In contrast to their hosts, Wolves arrive with a much lighter injury list and the benefit of a full week’s rest. While Toti Gomes remains sidelined with a hamstring strain and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is a doubt with a similar concern, the visitors are otherwise in good health.

Tactically, Rob Edwards has a significant opportunity to exploit City’s defensive frailties. After starting on the bench last weekend, Jørgen Strand Larsen is expected to return to the lineup. Partnering him with the physical Tolu Arokadare could allow Wolves to bully a makeshift City backline that has looked vulnerable in recent outings.

Man City vs Wolves Correct Score Prediction

The potential inclusion of Marc Guéhi should offer Manchester City some much-needed defensive stability, particularly if Nico González is also cleared to anchor the midfield. Both Manchester United and Bodø/Glimt took full advantage of City’s recent disarray, but Saturday offers a different challenge.

While Wolves lack the tactical unpredictability of Michael Carrick’s United and won’t have the advantage of freezing Norwegian conditions, they are still capable of frustrating a City side lacking confidence. Nevertheless, for Guardiola, dropping points is no longer an option. This is a mandatory victory, and City are expected to deliver.

Prediction: Man City 2-0 Wolves
