Following Nigeria’s 4-0 victory over Mozambique in the AFCON 2025 Round of 16, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has addressed the perceived friction between star forwards Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman.
Despite the team’s dominant performance, cameras caught a heated moment mid-way through the second half when Osimhen reacted sharply after Lookman opted not to pass to him in a scoring position. The Galatasaray striker was seen pulling away from captain Wilfred Ndidi to express his frustration toward Lookman.
However, in a post-match interview with SABC Sport, Chelle maintained a firm “closed-door” policy, stating that internal team dynamics would remain private. To further signal that the tension had passed, the Super Eagles Coach later posted a photo of Osimhen and Ademola Lookman celebrating together on Instagram with the caption “Felicitations.”
