IFAB

Founded in 1886, the International Football Association Board (IFAB) is the self-regulatory body responsible for the Laws of the Game. Originally established to standardize regulations for international play, the IFAB remains the primary “guardian” of football’s rules. Since its inception in 1904, FIFA has officially recognized the IFAB’s exclusive jurisdiction over these governing laws.
