Elche CF

Formed in 1923 following a consolidation of all local teams in the town, Elche CF joined the national league system in 1929. The club steadily climbed the ranks, earning promotion to the Segunda División in 1934 and reaching La Liga for the first time in 1959.

The mid-20th century marked major historical milestones for the team, including a high point of finishing fifth in the top flight during the 1963–64 campaign, followed by a run to the Copa del Rey final as runners-up in 1969. Today, Elche hosts its domestic fixtures at the 33,732-seat Estadio Martínez Valero.
