Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer has been pulled out of the England national team squad following a muscle issue, shortly after earning a recall from manager Thomas Tuchel.

The 24-year-old was initially included in Tuchel’s 27-man selection for England’s UEFA Nations League fixtures.His recall came after he was omitted from the Three Lions’ 2026 FIFA World Cup roster due to performance and persistent fitness struggles during the 2025–26 season.

Palmer started the 2026–27 season strongly for Chelsea, contributing four goals and two assists in seven appearances.Despite completing the full 90 minutes in Chelsea’s 3–0 Premier League defeat against Brentford, the muscle strain forced him to withdraw from international duty.Chelsea confirmed that Palmer will stay at Cobham alongside defender Wesley Fofana to concentrate on his recovery.
