Eberechi Eze is officially an Arsenal player once again, with the club confirming the long-term signing of the former Crystal Palace standout.
The news, posted on the club’s official website on Saturday, August 23, 2025, celebrates the Eberechi Eze’s return to north London, 14 years after his journey began in the Arsenal academy.
The 27-year-old England international first made a name for himself at Queens Park Rangers, where his breakthrough 2019/20 season earned him the Player of the Year award. The midfielder then moved to Crystal Palace in 2020, making more than 150 appearances and establishing himself as a key attacking force.
His time with the Eagles culminated in a historic moment this past May when he scored the decisive goal to secure their FA Cup final victory against Manchester City.

Eberechi Eze, who will wear the number 10 shirt for Arsenal, is set to join his new teammates following this weekend’s match against Leeds United.
The midfielder shared an emotional farewell message with Crystal Palace fans on social media after his move was announced. “It feels like just yesterday I was walking through the doors joining from QPR,” he wrote. “The day you gave me the chance to realise my dream of playing in the Premier League, for south London’s biggest club.”
Eze went on to describe the unique bond he felt with the club. “They call us a family club because it’s impossible to truly understand what it’s like to be part of this club unless you’re in it,” he said. He specifically thanked fans for their support through his Achilles injury and his return, adding, “the love you have all shown me, the way you have all supported me, and how we’ve stood together no matter what, these are things that will live in my heart forever.”
The transfer is being hailed as one of the most significant “hijacks” in recent football history, as Arsenal reportedly swooped in to reach an agreement with Crystal Palace despite Eze being close to a deal with rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
