While Moisés Caicedo remains central to the midfield, forfeiting Fernández’s vision, passing range, and tempo management marks a major shift. Although a contingent plan was established, Monaco’s unexpected refusal ruined those arrangements at the final hour, forcing the Blues to rely entirely on their current squad options until the next window opens.
