Barcelona have struck a deal to bring Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus to La Liga in an unexpected late-window transfer. The Catalan side turned their attention to the Brazilian attacker after their pursuit of Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez ran into complications.
However, An agreement has been finalized between the two clubs for a fee in the region of €10 million plus additional performance-related bonuses.
Why is the Arsenal forward leaving for Barcelona?
The move comes after Jesus found his starting opportunities in North London increasingly limited. The arrival of Viktor Gyökeres, coupled with Kai Havertz’s ongoing role in Mikel Arteta’s setup, pushed the former Manchester City forward down the hierarchy at the Emirates.
Although Jesus delivered several high-quality performances following his 2022 transfer from City, frequent injury setbacks continuously interrupted his form and prevented him from securing a permanent spot in the starting eleven. Moving to Spain offers the 29-year-old a chance to revitalize his career at the highest level.
