Naira Marley’s management has released an official statement about the singers current arrest and Prolonged detention in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
On Friday last week, Naira Marley was arrested and taken into custody on his birthday along with some friends including fellow Nigerian music colleague, Zlatan Ibile. The singers Arrest was in connection with his endorsement of cyber-fraud.
Just two days after Zlatan and other suspects were released while Naira Marley and one other still held in detention. In the press release, his management regretted the incidence while defending the artiste’s connection with cybercrime.
The management argued that Naira Marley was only asking a rhetorical question with his newest track ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy?’. He is a well-meaning Nigerian who is into legal means of livelihood like his music.
They also expressed that the incriminating items allegedly found on Marley were not his as it was borrowed during his stay in Nigeria, as they urged fans to stay positive while securing his release from custody.
