Ahead of his return to Stamford Bridge as manager of Benfica, Jose Mourinho offered his thoughts on the state of Chelsea under Todd Boehly’s ownership.
Jose Mourinho admitted that he initially worried Chelsea had “lost their identity as a club” following the takeover. However, he now feels the club is “back on track,” largely due to the appointment of Enzo Maresca and the resulting success.
He suggested the UEFA Conference League was an “easy competition to win” for a club of Chelsea’s size, but he praised the importance of the FIFA Club World Cup victory, which he said provided a crucial “base of trust and confidence.”
