The Nigerian Immigration Service has suspended the redeployment of officers who participated in Falz “Bop Daddy” challenge.

The service earlier punished 5 of its female officers for participating in the popular challenge by ordering for an immediate transfer of the officers to different Northern states ravaged by insurgency and all expenses for their relocation will be on them. On seeing that, the controversial rapper, Falz wrote to the Immigration service over the punishment of the said officers appealing for a reconsideration of the redeployment.

After much reactions from Nigerians who called out the agency for making a heartless decision; the NIS controller General, Muhammad Babandede has caused to put the discipline on-hold pending when the matter will be concluded.

He wrote; “The attention of the Comptroller General, Muhammad Babandede, MFR, has been drawn to some trending matters on some social media platforms regarding the deployment of some of our personnel to some formations across the country.

It is important to note that staff deployment remains a vital practice of regimented organisation such as ours and should be seen as such. As an agency, we maintain zero tolerance to any matters bordering on offences against discipline among members of our workforce irrespective of gender.

We have high premium for staff development and indeed encourage personal efforts but that must be within the confines of our rules and regulations. The matter involving the personnel in question is still being investigated and therefore, the Comptroller General has directed that the earlier posting order be put on hold pending the final conclusion of the matter.
